Bio

Chris Giambelluca is an international performer, engineer and producer currently based in Turlock, California.  A professional musician for over 25 years, Chris has performed and recorded with numerous legendary artists including John Doe, Jackson Browne, Andrew Bird, Calexico, Neko Case, Darius Rucker, Rachel Yamagata, Marshall Crenshaw, Bob Mould and many more. A seasoned performer, he has performed in many of the most prestigious venues in North America including The Greek Theater in Berkeley, Los Angeles’ Wiltern Theater, The Hollywood Bowl, New York City’s Carnegie Hall, Mexico City’s national Stadium Foro Sol, as well as an appearance on NBC’s “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” show.

Graduating from the University of Arizona, Chris earned a degree in the Media Arts specializing in audio recording as well as film and television production. Soon he found his way into the production department at Tucson radio stations 101.3 KEKO, 96.1 KLPX and AM 990 KTKT where he produced and recorded voicer and commercial spots for airplay. In addition he spent time as a broadcast audio engineer, field recordist, stage manager and studio camera operator at the PBS affiliate in Tucson, KUAT-TV where he earned production credit working on live and pre-recorded shows including “Arizona Illustrated”, “The Desert Speaks”, and “Reflexiones”.

With roots In Tucson since 1992, Chris has been a recording engineer, studio musician and producer having a unique ability to bridge the gap between technology and creativity. As a staff engineer at Allusion Studios and session musician at recording studios including Tucson’s Allusion, Wavelab, Waterworks and Loveland, Chris always brings the sought after talent of an accomplished musician to the table through creative musicality and communication along with a solid technical foundation to realize and capture any moment at its best. Over the past two decades he has recorded and performed on dozens of projects spanning the myriad musical styles from throughout the eclectic music scene in the Southwest. His credits include production, engineering, bass, keyboard, percussion, and vocals.

With an up to date knowledge of current technology and software, Chris often finds a modern/classic aesthetic drawing on old school recording and production techniques while blending them with modern theory. He is comfortable working in and out of a formal studio setting. Chris is always listening for new and interesting projects that can take advantage of his talents as a musician, engineer, and producer.
